Under ₹7L? Nissan Gravite debuts as India's newest budget 7-seater

Nissan has officially unveiled the name of its upcoming multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) for the Indian market. The model, dubbed Nissan Gravite, will be launched in January 2026. It is the first product to be released under the brand's refreshed and strategically curated line-up for India. The seven-seater MPV will hit showrooms by March 2026 and is expected to be priced between ₹6-9 lakh (ex-showroom). After the Gravite, Nissan will debut the Tekton in mid-2026 and a 7-seater C-SUV in 2027.

The Nissan Gravite was first revealed as a concept in July 2024 as part of the automaker's product roadmap for India. The company says that the Gravite has been developed with a focus on Indian family requirements, offering seating for seven occupants. The MPV will emphasize cabin flexibility, modular seating and space utilization to cater to both daily commuting needs and longer family journeys.

Gravite's design and manufacturing details
The Nissan Gravite will follow the brand's global design language, featuring a C-shaped front grille, hood branding and rear-door badging. The MPV will be based on the CMF-A+ platform, which is also used by Renault Triber. It will be locally manufactured at Renault-Nissan's Chennai production facility as part of their strategy to develop vehicles for Indian customers while supporting exports.
