Porsche recently patented Tunnel Mode—a feature that automatically makes your drive through tunnels more thrilling.
When the car's cameras spot a tunnel, it lowers the windows, shifts to a lower gear, and switches on Sport mode to boost those iconic exhaust sounds.

It also warms up the cabin if it's chilly

Tunnel Mode isn't just about sound. It also adjusts the climate so you stay comfy with open windows—warming things up if it's chilly.
Cars with active exhausts get extra loud, convertibles are prompted to drop their tops at safe stops, and even electric Porsches can join in by amping up tones derived from its more potent gas vehicles.
While still in development, this shows Porsche is all-in on making driving more fun and immersive for the future.
