Skoda Kodiaq Scout to launch in India on September 30
Skoda India is all set to launch the Kodiaq Scout SUV in India on September 30. Presently, the Kodiaq line-up comprises of Style and L&K variants. The upcoming Kodiaq Scout will arrive as a more off-road focused model. The new model gets a bunch of design and feature upgrades over existing variants. However, mechanically, it remains same as the other models. Here is more.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout sports a head-turning look featuring a tall and wide stance with 194mm ground clearance and 2,791mm wheelbase. The car comes with a cascading grille housed in a chrome-finished frame, sleek headlamps, silver-colored roof rails, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Further, the variant gets blacked-out claddings underneath front as well as rear bumpers and blacked-out wheel arches.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout sports all-black interior unlike other variants, along with a sunroof and a multifunctional steering wheel. The SUV houses a 9.2-inch infotainment panel with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Further, it gets multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera as well as parking sensors, and a dedicated off-road driving mode. This mode is not available in other variants.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout retains the mechanical specifications of the other Kodiaq models. Hence, it is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine which is capable of producing 148bhp of power and 340Nm of peak torque. For transmission duties, the SUV gets a seven-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all wheels via 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
As for the pocket pinch, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout is likely to arrive at a slightly higher price than the existing top-spec Kodiaq L&K variant which costs Rs. 36.78 lakh. Once launched, it will lock horns with rivals like Ford Endeavour and and Volkswagen Tiguan.
