Tata Motors has officially unveiled the new Sierra SUV, a modern take on one of India's most iconic vehicles. The original Sierra was launched in 1991 and was Tata's first-ever made-in-India off-roader. The new model features a modern design with neo-retro elements and advanced tech for today's consumers. The official launch of this much-anticipated SUV is scheduled for November 25, 2025.

Powertrain options for the new Tata Sierra
The new Tata Sierra will be available in both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV (Electric Vehicle) variants. The ICE model is expected to offer a 1.5-liter TGDi turbo-petrol engine or a 2.0-liter Kryotec diesel mill, both potentially paired with manual and automatic gearboxes. Additionally, there is a possibility of a 1.5-liter diesel unit, which generates 118hp in the Curvv SUV, being offered.
Electric variant
Tata Sierra EV: A glimpse into the future
The electric version of the Sierra will be built on Tata's Acti. EV platform, a dedicated EV architecture that supports multiple battery sizes and configurations. Although exact specifications are yet to be revealed, the Sierra EV is likely to offer two battery pack options with an estimated single-charge range of 450-550km. Higher variants may even come with dual-motor setups for all-wheel drive capabilities.

Premium features and safety suite of Tata Sierra
The new Tata Sierra will be a flagship SUV in Tata's range, promising premium interiors. It will come with a triple-screen setup, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, illuminated Tata logo on the four-spoke steering wheel, dual-tone interiors with ventilated front seats and ambient lighting. The safety suite is likely to include six airbags, ABS with ESC (Electronic Stability Control), electronic parking brake with auto hold among other features.

The Tata Sierra is likely to be priced between ₹17-22 lakh (ex-showroom) for the ICE-powered models and slightly higher for EV versions. This puts it in direct competition with other top-end SUVs in the market.
