What's the story

Electric vehicle maker Tesla has opened its first-ever Supercharger station in Gurugram. The facility is located at DLF Horizon Centre on Golf Course Road. It comes after the launch of the Tesla Center in the city and highlights the company's commitment to building a robust charging ecosystem for its customers.

Charging infrastructure

Gurugram Supercharger station: A hub for EV charging

The Gurugram Supercharger station features four V4 Superchargers with peak charging speeds of up to 250kW and three Destination Chargers rated at 11kW. This setup caters to a range of charging needs, from quick top-ups during the long journeys to slower, convenient charging for extended stays. Tesla says that a Model Y can add up to 275km of range in just 15 minutes at these Superchargers.

User convenience

Tesla's Supercharger stations offer seamless charging experience

The charging experience at Tesla's Supercharger stations is fully integrated with the Tesla app. This allows the users to navigate to the station, check stall availability, monitor the charging progress, receive notifications upon completion, and make payments seamlessly. The company also boasts a network uptime of 99.95%, thus ensuring consistent and hassle-free access for its customers.

Network growth

Tesla expands charging network across India

With the launch of the Gurugram site, Tesla has three charging locations in India: Gurugram, Delhi, and Mumbai. Together, they provide a total of 12 Superchargers and 10 Destination Chargers. The Delhi chargers are located at Worldmark while the Mumbai facility is at One BKC.

Customer engagement

Tesla to host workshops

To familiarize buyers with its charging technology, Tesla will be hosting interactive workshops at the Gurugram Supercharger station from today to December 21. These sessions will showcase how Superchargers and Destination Chargers work, while also providing insights into electric mobility and sustainable energy solutions. The expansion of Tesla's charging network comes with the launch of the Model Y in India. The electric SUV is available in two variants.
