Triumph Tracker 400 to arrive in India in retuned avatar
What's the story
Triumph Motorcycles is gearing up to launch a new Tracker bike in India. The British brand's latest addition will sit alongside the existing Triumph 400 range. However, unlike its international counterpart, the Tracker 400, India will likely get a downsized version with a new 350cc engine. This is part of Bajaj Auto and Triumph's strategy to make the bike more affordable for Indian consumers amid revised GST rules.

New engine to make Tracker more price-competitive
The new 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill for the Tracker will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. Although it will generate less power than the 400cc version, the overall performance feel is expected to be similar. The decision to downsize the engine comes after revised GST rules imposed a higher tax rate of 40% on motorbikes with an engine capacity above 350cc.

Tracker 350's design and features
The Tracker 350 will sport a clean and minimalist silhouette, reminiscent of classic flat-track motorcycles. It will share cycle parts with the Speed 400 and come with disk brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The bike will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels shod in road-focused tires. As for features, the Triumph Tracker 350 will have full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument console, ride-by-wire throttle, and traction control as standard.
