TVS Jupiter Grande to launch in India around Diwali: Report
TVS Motor Company is gearing up to launch the Jupiter Grande in India sometime around Diwali, according to Autocar. Reportedly, the scooter will retain the design and mechanical specifications of the outgoing variant. However, it is expected to offer new-age features like Bluetooth-enabled instrument panel and smartphone connectivity with TVS Connect application. Here's our roundup.
The 2019 TVS Jupiter Grande will feature a sporty look with a beige-colored leatherette seat, chrome-finished mirrors, silver-colored grab rail, and blacked-out alloy wheels. The scooter is expected to come with a Bluetooth-enabled digital console, and will also support smartphone pairing using TVS Connect application. For lighting, it will house an LED headlight along with turn indicators and LED taillamps.
The upcoming Jupiter Grande will be powered by the same 109.7cc air-cooled, single cylinder engine which produces 8PS of power at 7,500rpm and 8Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Further, the engine, mated to an automatic CVT, promises an ARAI-certified mileage of 62kmpl.
For braking performance, the 2019 Jupiter Grande will come equipped with 220mm disc brake on the front, 130mm drum brake on the rear, and mandatory combined braking system (CBS) to avoid skidding while braking. The scooter will house telescopic forks on the front side and a gas-charged monoshock unit on the rear to handle suspension duties.
Going by the specs, we expect the upcoming Jupiter Grande to be priced around Rs. 65,000 in India. However, official details will be revealed during launch event itself. Once launched, it will lock horns with rivals such as Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Activa 5G.
