Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 1.5-liter diesel engine launched at Rs. 9.86L
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the diesel model of its Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in India at a starting price of Rs. 9.86 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The multi-purpose vehicle arrives with the company's BS6 compliant in-house developed 1.5-liter DDiS 225 diesel engine. 2019 Maruti Ertiga: At a glance
The 2019 Maruti Ertiga sports a curvy body with chrome finished front grille. It features an integrated antenna, power windows, a rear window defogger, adjustable projector headlights, LED taillamps and power adjustable rear-view mirror. Furthermore, with a wheelbase of 2,740mm, and a gross weight of 1,730 kg, the car runs on radial tubeless alloy wheels.
2019 Maruti Ertiga: Inside the cabin
The Maruti Ertiga is equipped with a multi-function power steering wheel, chromed gear shift knob and parking brake lever, dual-tone upholstery as well as roof-mounted AC vents. It comes with a touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 7-seater MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) offers headrest and center-armrest for the rear passengers.

In terms of safety, the latest Maruti Ertiga comes with 5th generation heartect platform, power door locks, central locking, parking sensors, crash sensors, and anti-theft provisions. It also offers child safety locks, child seat mounts, speed alert system, brake energy regeneration, engine check warning, door ajar warning along with pre-tensioner and force limiter seatbelt. Moreover, the MPV has ABS, EBD and dual airbags.
Under the hood
The 2019 Maruti Ertiga is powered by the new 1,498cc, four-cylinder, turbocharged DDiS 225 diesel engine which produces 94bhp of maximum power and 225Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Also, the company has used Dual-Mass flywheel as a link between motor and the transmission in this car which helps in channelizing the torque evenly.

Maruti has launched the Ertiga in three variants. The base-end VDI comes at a price tag of Rs. 9.86 lakh, the mid-end ZDI costs Rs. 10.69 lakh while the top-end ZDI+ costs Rs. 11.20 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The company's dealerships across the country have already started accepting bookings for the car and the deliveries are expected to commence soon.
