Amazon to invest $35B in India, create 1 million jobs by 2030
Amazon is going big on India, announcing it'll invest over $35 billion by 2030.
The move is all about powering up India's digital economy, boosting AI, and creating jobs.
With this fresh round, Amazon's total investment in the country over the past 15 years will hit nearly $75 billion.
What Amazon's doing in India
Amazon isn't just about shopping—its Indian operations span e-commerce, data centers, logistics, digital payments, and AI-powered tools and technology platforms.
The company has helped digitize over 12 million small businesses here and driven $20 billion worth of exports from Indian sellers so far.
Looking ahead
By 2030, Amazon wants to push those exports up to $80 billion and add another million jobs across its network—think direct roles plus delivery partners and seasonal gigs.
For context: in just 2024 alone, Amazon expects to support around 2.8 million jobs across India.
