    What's the story

In a shocking incident, Bajaj Electricals MD, Anant Bajaj died on Friday night. He was just 41. Preliminary reports suggested Mr Bajaj suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in Mumbai.

He was the son of chairman Shekhar Bajaj. The funeral took place at Kalbadevi's Chandanwadi crematorium.

The business magnate was also a member of Young Entrepreneur Wing of the Indian Merchants' Chamber and NGO Greenpeace.

    Life

Mr Bajaj became the MD just two months ago

Born on May 18, 1977, Mr Bajaj held a commerce degree from Mumbai's HR college. He also had a Harvard University's management degree.

Mr Bajaj joined the company officially in 1999, aged 22.

As the general manager of special assignments, he dived into IT and solar projects and got success.

He became joint MD in 2012 and was appointed MD on June 1.

    The memories

He was great friend, client, collaborator: Friend remembers Mr Bajaj

Mr Bajaj's friend Jignesh Maniar wrote a long post on Facebook. Maniar revealed he had a great vision for BEL, and he passionately spoke about his ideas.

Maniar knew Mr Bajaj since six years and wrote he was a 'great friend, client and a collaborator'.

"He was a man who had deep knowledge about everything and loved trivia," Maniar wrote.

    Quote

The world has lost a visionary, I a friend: Maniar

"The world has lost a visionary and I have lost a friend. My heart goes out to his wife and his 3-year-old son, whose antics he would often narrate, and his parents. RIP Anant," added Jignesh Maniar. Definitely gone too soon!
