Apple India flagged for compliance lapses, but business stays strong
Business
Apple's India operations just got called out by auditors for skipping daily electronic backups between April and October last year and not preserving required audit trails for the year ending March 31, 2024.
Basically, some key data wasn't stored as per the rules.
No tampering found, and profits still booming
The good news? Auditors didn't find any signs of tampering where records were kept—though admin changes did knock out the main accounting software.
Even with these hiccups, Apple's financials in India look solid: sales hit over ₹79,000 crore with big profits last year.
So while compliance needs tightening up, business is still going strong.
