Bajaj Auto is now the sole owner of KTM

Business

Bajaj Auto just got the official go-ahead to fully take over Pierer Mobility AG, the group behind KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas.
Thanks to a special restructuring rule from Austrian regulators, Bajaj didn't have to make a public takeover offer.
This wraps up an 18-year journey that started with Bajaj buying a small stake in KTM back in 2007.

Bajaj invested $921 million to buy out Pierer Mobility shares

To pull this off, Bajaj invested about $921 million to help KTM through its recent financial crisis and bought out all shares held by its Austrian partner.
Now, with nearly 75% control of Pierer Mobility AG, Bajaj calls the shots for some of Europe's most famous motorcycle brands.

What does this mean for KTM?

KTM will still build bikes from its home base in Austria, but big decisions are moving to Pune, India.
Regulators across Europe and Austria have already signed off on this shift—so expect more global moves from these iconic brands soon.
