    Top 5 electric scooters and cars available in India

    Electric Vehicles (EVs) are surely the future of transportation. Naturally, almost all major automakers are pushing towards an all-electric future.

    In India too, the market for EVs is growing as more and more consumers are switching to a greener and cheaper mode of transportation.

    So if you are also looking for an EV, here are the top 5 options available in the country.

    Option #1

    Ather 450: Priced at Rs. 1.24 lakh

    If you're looking for an e-scooter, the Ather 450 is one of the best options.

    The India-made e-scooter features a sporty look and offers on-screen navigation and parking assist function.

    It comes with a 5.4kW motor which provides 20.5Nm of peak torque and 80kmph of top speed.

    Further, the 2.4kWh battery offers a range of 75km and 60km in economy and power modes, respectively.

    Option #2

    Okinawa Praise: Price starts at Rs. 70,000

    Manufactured by Gurugram-based Okinawa, the Praise is a cheaper alternative to the Ather 450.

    The e-scooter offers premium looks with LED fitments and attractive body graphics.

    It is powered by a 1000-watt electric motor that churns out 40Nm of peak torque, allowing for a top speed of 75kmph.

    Lastly, the Okinawa Praise offers a mileage of 170km and can charge fully in 6-8 hours.

    Option #3

    Hero Electric Optima: Priced at Rs. 58,000

    The Optima Plus is yet another eco-friendly but tamed down alternative for general city commute.

    Manufactured by Hero Electric, the e-scooter features a sleek body with Honda Activa-like looks.

    The top speed of the scooter is capped at 40kmph and comes in 550W/1200W motor options.

    Notably, the Optima takes around 4 hours to charge fully and offers a mileage of 60km/charge.

    Option #4

    Mahindra e20 Plus: Price at starts Rs. 6.07 lakh

    In terms of 100% electric cars, there are only a handful of options available in India including the Mahindra e20 Plus.

    The four-seater hatchback, available in three variants, is powered by a 19KW motor that offers a torque of 70Nm and a range of upto 140km/charge.

    Further, there's also a patented "Revive" technology which gives additional 5km in case you run out of charge.

    Option #5

    Mahindra eVerito: Price starts at Rs. 13.17 lakh

    Touted as India's first-ever all-electric sedan, the Mahindra eVerito is a more premium yet greener alternative to diesel/petrol-based cars available in the country.

    Available in four variants, the car comes with a 31KW motor and offers a top speed of 86kmph.

    In terms of mileage, the eVerito is available with upto 252Ah battery that provides a claimed driving range of upto 140km.
