Coca-Cola is finally making cane sugar soda in the US
Coca-Cola has introduced a new cane sugar soda in select US cities, served up in 12-oz glass bottles.
This is the first time since the brand switched to high-fructose corn syrup that you can get a cane sugar Coke made in the US—thanks in part to President Trump's push for a local version of the much-loved Mexican Coke.
How to get your hands on this limited-edition soda
Announced in July 2025, this soda promises that classic "cleaner" cane sugar taste, which fans and blind taste tests comparing cane sugar Coke to HFCS Coke seem to back up.
But don't expect it everywhere just yet—limited US cane sugar supplies and glass bottling mean the launch is rolling out slowly.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is calling out high-fructose corn syrup over health concerns, though experts remind us all sugars should be enjoyed in moderation.
