Coinbase launches tokenized US stocks on Base backed by shares
Business
Coinbase just rolled out tokenized versions of big US stocks (think Apple, NVIDIA, Meta, and Alphabet) on its Base blockchain.
These tokens are available to eligible investors outside the US and are backed 1-to-1 by real shares held by a regulated custodian.
It's a fresh way to invest in familiar names, but through crypto.
Coinbase tokens follow ADGM rules
The tokens follow Abu Dhabi Global Market regulations and come with stockholder perks like dividends and splits.
You can trade them anytime on venues like Aerodrome or move them between wallets.
Chainlink supplies live price data, so DeFi apps can use these tokens as collateral.
With competitors jumping in and Citi predicting the market could hit $5.5 trillion by 2030, tokenized assets are definitely catching attention.
