Derek Chadwick resigns after Goose used fake AI Instagram influencers
Derek Chadwick, co-founder of the dating app Goose, has resigned following reports that the app used fake, AI-generated Instagram influencers to attract users.
A recent Wired investigation exposed how Goose created accounts with AI-generated faces to message and lure men into joining the platform.
Goose confirmed departure has not commented
Chadwick, who is also a model and influencer with millions of followers, announced his exit on August 18, saying, "Where I landed is that my vision for where this should go and the direction the company is going aren't the same thing anymore."
He shared, "When my name and my face are on something, I want to be able to stand behind all of it, fully."
While Goose confirmed his departure, it hasn't commented on the scandal itself.
The app, once pitched as a relationship-focused alternative to Grindr, is now facing backlash for its misleading tactics.
