Deutsche Bank accelerates projects with AI and India team
Deutsche Bank is getting projects done way faster thanks to artificial intelligence.
Denis Roux, chief information officer, investment bank at Deutsche Bank, shared that tasks which used to drag on for two years now wrap up in just three to six months.
The magic? AI helps clear backlogs in weeks instead of months, and nearly half of the bank's tech team, about 9,000 people, are based in India, driving this change.
Denis Roux mandates tokens for compute
Even with all these gains, Roux says he is careful about costs as tech providers switch to usage-based pricing.
Engineers have to justify extra computing power using a token system.
The bank is also building new AI tools that can analyze financial data and link global events to portfolio risks.
Roux adds he is mixing advanced AI with simpler models for routine work, and sometimes sticking with old-school methods if they work better.
