European Parliament to vote June 16 on US tariff deal
The European Parliament is set to vote on a new trade agreement with the US on June 16, hoping to ease recent tensions.
If passed, most EU goods will face a 15% tariff in the US while American products get their tariffs dropped.
The deal has been in the works since July 2025, after Mr. Trump's threats to Greenland and a US Supreme Court decision striking down many of his tariffs fueled months of delay.
Deal blocks tariffs on European cars
This agreement is mainly about stopping new US tariffs on European cars and keeping things stable for both sides.
It includes an expiration date in 2029 and lets the EU pause the deal if the US doesn't stick to its promises.
Most major political groups support it as important for EU-US trade, though some critics say Europe gave up too much.
After Parliament votes, member countries still need to sign off before it kicks in.
