FSSAI suspends Marche Retail 30 days, bans SDP Industries' ghee
FSSAI just suspended New Delhi's Marche Retail for 30 days after finding major hygiene and safety problems during inspections.
At the same time, SDP Industries from Daman is now banned from selling all variants of ghee manufactured, stored or sold from its authorized premises, including its "Shraddha," "Shree Saras," and "Gokul" ghee, since lab tests found A-sitosterol and non-conformity in the fatty-acid composition, indicating foreign/vegetable fats in the products.
FSSAI sends 150+ notices to companies
FSSAI isn't stopping there: it has sent over 150 notices to food companies including Nestle India, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola India for misleading advertisements, false claims and labeling non-compliances.
It has also sent 12 notices to Amazon and Flipkart.
Even popular food chains like McDonald's and Domino's got hit with notices; Domino's had five licenses suspended.
Many companies are now scrambling to fix things after these crackdowns.
