Gallup: Monthly AI use linked to lower layoff risk
If you're in tech and using AI regularly, your job might be safer than you think.
A Gallup survey of more than 23,000 US workers found that among US tech workers who use AI at least once a month, the predicted probability of being laid off is about 6%, compared with 18% for workers who use the technology less often.
It's clear: knowing your way around AI is becoming a must-have for job security.
Gallup warns against AI use metrics
The report points out that companies are paying attention to employees' AI habits when making decisions about hiring and keeping staff.
Even though only 1% of layoffs were directly blamed on AI, its influence is growing behind the scenes.
Gallup suggests not tying performance reviews too closely to how often you use AI, since it could lead people to focus more on appearances than real productivity.
