Gartner: AI and memory drive semiconductors to $1.6 trillion
Semiconductors are about to get a major upgrade.
Gartner says global revenue will hit $1.6 trillion in 2026, nearly twice last year's $809 billion.
The surge comes from huge investments in AI tech and a strong memory pricing cycle.
And the momentum isn't slowing down: the market could reach $1.9 trillion by 2027.
AI infrastructure over 1-third in 2026
AI infrastructure is quickly becoming the heart of the industry, expected to make up over one-third of revenue in 2026 and more than one-half by 2030.
Memory chips are also on fire, with projected sales of $837 billion in 2026 and over $1 trillion soon after.
DRAM and NAND flash revenues are set for massive jumps, thanks to all that demand from stronger memory pricing and continued AI infrastructure deployments.
Non-memory chips jump 21.9% to $718B
It's not just about memory: non-memory semiconductors are expected to climb from $589 billion in 2025 to $718 billion in 2026, a solid 21.9% boost as AI changes what's needed across the tech world.
