India negotiating FTAs covering $15 trillion GDP, Piyush Goyal says

India is currently negotiating free trade agreements with at least 8-9 additional groups of countries and individual nations, aiming to cover a whopping $15 trillion in GDP.
If all goes well, these deals would mean India is connected to 75% of global trade, pretty huge!
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared the news while leading a big business team in Japan.
India gains $70 trillion market access
Over the past four years, India has locked in nine FTAs with 38 developed economies, giving it access to markets worth $70 trillion (including deals with ASEAN, Japan, and Korea).
Goyal also pointed out that India is becoming a hot spot for investments in manufacturing, data centers, and AI, especially as ties with Japan keep growing.
