India wants a $100B creative economy by 2030

Business

India has set its sights on turning the creative sector—think media, entertainment, animation, and more—into a $100 billion powerhouse by 2030.
Announced at the CII Big Picture Summit in Mumbai, this move could mean over five million new jobs.
Right now, the creative economy is just 1% of India's GDP, but it's growing fast—about two and a half times the global average.

What's needed to make it happen

To hit these big goals, experts say India needs better laws (one clear rulebook instead of many), stronger protection for creators' ideas, and upgraded tech like top-notch studios and widespread 5G.
The plan also includes a single digital portal for businesses and tough anti-piracy steps to attract investors.
Plus, there's a push for world-class training in animation and digital media so young talent can actually land those future jobs.
