IndiGo to launch daily direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou

IndiGo, India's leading low-cost carrier, has announced the launch of daily direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou, China. The service will start on November 10 and is a major step toward restoring air connectivity between India and China, following disruptions due to the pandemic and geopolitical tensions. The new route will be operated by IndiGo's Airbus A320 aircraft, enhancing connectivity between two of Asia's fastest-growing economies.

The announcement comes after the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed earlier this month that direct flights between India and China would resume. This is seen as a significant step toward normalizing post-pandemic relations. Prior to this, IndiGo had already announced daily Kolkata-Guangzhou services starting October 26. The new Delhi-Guangzhou connection further expands the airline's network in East Asia.

The Delhi-Guangzhou flight will leave at 9:45pm and reach its destination at 4:50am. The return trip will depart Guangzhou at 5:50am, arriving back in Delhi at 10:10am. Tickets for this route can be booked through IndiGo's website. The airline has also announced plans to launch daily direct flights between Delhi and Hanoi from December 20, further expanding its footprint in Southeast Asia.
