IndiGo to stabilize flight network by December 10
IndiGo says it'll get its flights back on track by December 10 after days of large-scale disruptions caused chaos at major airports.
They're pointing to more flights and better on-time stats as signs things are improving.
What's IndiGo actually doing?
Between December 6 and 7, IndiGo ramped up daily flights from about 1,500 to over 1,650 and boosted punctuality from a rough 30% to a much better 75%.
Cancellations dropped a lot. To help frustrated travelers, they sped up communication and offered refunds plus baggage help—even for indirect bookings.
If you're flying soon, they suggest checking your flight status in real time.
Waivers and fare caps for travelers
To make things easier for passengers caught in the mess, IndiGo is waiving all cancelation or rescheduling fees for trips between December 5-15.
The government also temporarily relaxed some rules and put caps on fares during the crisis.
Regulators step in
The DGCA (aviation regulator) sent a show-cause notice to IndiGo's CEO over planning failures and crew shortages that led to the meltdown.
