James Tillinghast sues Meta alleging firing tied to immigration letter
A former Meta manager, James Tillinghast, is taking Meta to court after being fired.
He says it was because he refused to sign off on an immigration letter that he felt exaggerated an employee's achievements.
The letter credited one worker with $638 million in ad revenue and developed AI tools and took on wider leadership responsibilities, but Tillinghast insists those were really team efforts.
Tillinghast sues alleging retaliation and bias
After pushing back on the letter (and even suggesting edits), Tillinghast says Meta restricted his access at work and then let him go for underperformance, a reason he disputes.
He's now suing for over $1 million, claiming retaliation and bias in how Meta handled immigration support.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about fairness and workplace treatment in tech.
