Lat Aerospace's Lat One v0.2 succeeds in comeback test flight
Lat Aerospace, a young startup co-founded by Deepinder Goyal, just pulled off a successful test flight with its latest drone, the Lat One v0.2.
The big idea? Mix the speed and range of airplanes with the easy takeoff and landing of helicopters, thanks to some clever "blown wing" tech.
This win comes just months after their first prototype crashed, so it's a real comeback moment.
Lat 1 cruised at 33 m/s
The new drone flew for over 6 minutes and landed smoothly, showing big improvements from last time. It even outperformed expectations by cruising at 33 m/s (a bit faster than planned) and handled tough conditions without overheating.
With former Zomato COO Surobhi Das leading the charge, Lat Aerospace is aiming to build aircraft that need almost no runway, making fast deliveries possible pretty much anywhere.
