    What's the story

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has introduced an automatic manual transmission (AMT) option on its crossover, the XUV300.

The company has offered the AMT option on the W8 and W8(O) diesel models at a premium of Rs. 55,000 more than their respective counterparts with manual transmission.

Notably, the deliveries for the subcompact SUV are underway via Mahindra dealerships across India.

    Here's our roundup.

    Looks

    Mahindra XUV300: At a glance

Up front, the XUV300 features a chrome-finished grille with angular LED projector headlamps, DRLs, and fog lamps while the sides are highlighted by character lines above the wheel arches and dual-tone roof.

On the rear, it has edgy tail lamps and a roof-mounted spoiler.

In terms of dimensions, the crossover offers 180mm of ground clearance and a segment-leading wheelbase of 2,620mm.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

Inside, the Mahindra XUV300 comes with dual-tone upholstery, dual-zone climate control with memory function, steering mounted controls, chrome accents around the side AC vents, tire pressure monitoring systems, and parking sensors among others.

Moreover, the subcompact SUV gets 7 airbags, an electric sunroof, cruise control, and a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

    Engine

    Power and performance

The Mahindra XUV300 is powered by the same 1.5-liter diesel engine which churns out 115bhp of maximum power and an impressive torque of 300Nm.

The new variants house Marelli sourced autoSHIFT AMT transmission for peppy acceleration and convenient riding experience.

Moreover, it promises a mileage of 20kmpl and a top speed of 175kmph.

    Pricing

    Finally, what's the pricing?

As for the pocket-pinch, the Mahindra XUV300 with AMT starts at Rs. 11.35 lakh for its W8 variant, while the top-of-the-line W8 (O) model is priced at Rs. 12.54 lakh.

At this price point, the crossover will go up against Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza, and Hyundai's recently launched Venue.
