NCLT shuts down RCom's ₹325cr refund bid against Ericsson
Business
RCom tried to get ₹325 crore back from Ericsson—a payment it made in 2019 after a Supreme Court contempt order—but the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) just said no.
The tribunal ruled that this payment wasn't breaking any insolvency rules and didn't come from the bankrupt part of the company.
What's behind this money drama?
Back in 2019, RCom and its group companies paid Ericsson ₹550 crore to settle old dues from a 2013 contract.
RCom wanted its share refunded, but NCLT pointed out that the Supreme Court had ordered this payment, so it couldn't be undone now.
Ericsson even called RCom's claim "misconceived," saying the money was paid because of a contempt order—not because of bankruptcy issues.
