New York's General Intuition seeks $6B pre-money funding from investors
General Intuition, a New York-based AI startup, is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation.
The buzz is strong: new investors including Valor Equity Partners and Point72 Ventures are participating in the round, with existing backers Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst also joining in.
This comes just weeks after the company raised $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation, so things are moving fast.
Medal action labels drive investor interest
The fresh funds will help General Intuition level up its AI tech, especially in robotics. They're teaming up with CoreWeave to boost their computing power and plan to grow their team.
Investor Vinod Khosla highlighted how their use of "action labels" (basically tracking player moves from CEO Pim de Witte's old video game clip-sharing platform Medal) is helping train AI to handle tasks it hasn't seen before.
This unique approach has made investor interest skyrocket, with the current round reportedly oversubscribed.
