Nikita Bier invites Meta staff to join X, mention 'snacks'
Meta's recent layoffs and AI-focused restructuring have left Meta is "struggling with low employee morale following mass layoffs and a sweeping AI-driven restructuring," and X is "openly trying to recruit Meta employees."
Sensing an opportunity, X's Head of Product, Nikita Bier, openly invited Meta folks to join X, joking that they'll "match or even exceed any snack budget offer."
Bier even told applicants to mention "snacks" in their applications for a little extra fun.
Meta cuts 8,000 jobs, reassigns 6,500
After cutting 8,000 jobs in May this year and moving 6,500 employees into AI roles (some feeling like they were just "drafted" into data labeling), morale at Meta has hit rock bottom, as Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth recently admitted.
While Meta leaders promise to fix the culture, these internal struggles are making it easier for competitors like X to scoop up top tech talent as the race for AI expertise heats up.
