Noel's son Neville, Bhaskar Bhat are new Tata trust trustees

Business

Neville Tata—Noel Tata's son—and longtime Tata Group leader Bhaskar Bhat have just been named trustees of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust for a three-year term.
This comes after Mehli Mistry was removed last month and new rules limited the number of lifetime trustee positions to one-fourth of the board.

Neville's appointment is significant

Neville's appointment stands out because he's the first family member to join the main trust board since Mistry's exit.
The move also signals a shift in how decisions are made: the executive committee has been dissolved, so chairman Noel Tata now holds all decision-making powers.

Who are the new trustees?

Neville heads Zudio (the budget-friendly fashion brand) and sits on several other Tata trusts. He studied at Bayes Business School and started with Trent in 2016.
Bhaskar Bhat is a seasoned insider—he led Titan for years and has served on multiple boards across the group.

SDTT and SRTT control 52% of Tata Sons

The SDTT and Sir Ratan Tata Trust together control 52% of Tata Sons—the $180 billion heart of the entire group—so changes here ripple across one of India's biggest business empires.
