OpenAI and TCS team up to power up AI in India

Business

OpenAI, the folks behind ChatGPT, are in talks with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to level up AI tech in India.
They are looking to build advanced AI tools for big companies and secure a massive chunk of data center space—right as OpenAI begins groundwork for its Stargate project and Google drops $15 billion on an AI hub in Andhra Pradesh.

Big investments to make India an AI hotspot

TCS is also working with TPG to boost its HyperVault data centers, with both companies ready to invest up to ₹18,000 crore for top-notch AI infrastructure.
OpenAI might lease at least 500 MW from HyperVault for training and running their models locally.
This partnership not only strengthens India's spot on the global AI map but also helps TCS chase its goal of becoming a leading name in AI services.
