Piyush Goyal leads largest-ever 200-plus Indian business delegation to Japan
Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal is taking a delegation of more than 200 Indian business representatives to Japan from August 24-27, the largest ever.
The group includes representatives from manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, automotive, steel, and startups.
The main goal? To strengthen trade and investment between India and Japan as part of their Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
Goyal's Japan visit spotlights advanced tech
The visit covers Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka with a big focus on advanced tech (think semiconductors, AI, startups) and building up sectors that support India's Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and Viksit Bharat 2047 (developed India by 2047) plans.
Goyal will meet top Japanese executives, join business roadshows, and highlight opportunities for collaboration in everything from clean energy to consumer markets.
