After Vodafone, Jio and Airtel's prepaid plans also become expensive

Just days after Vodafone Idea announced a hike in prepaid plans, telecom majors Reliance Jio and Airtel have also raised the prices of their prepaid services and products in India. The revised plans are estimated to be costlier by upto 47% and will come into effect from December 3 for Airtel users and December 6 for Reliance Jio customers. Here are the finer details.

Reliance Jio to offer upto 300% more benefits

In a statement, Reliance Jio has said that its recently-launched All-in-One plans will become costlier by upto 40%. However, the telco has said the company will offer upto 300% more benefits to compensate for the increase in tariffs. Currently, Jio has five All-in-One packs ranging from Rs. 149 to Rs. 555, offering upto 84-days of validity as well as 2GB daily data.

Meanwhile, Jio is yet to announce its revised plans

Though Jio has confirmed the price hike in its prepaid services, it is yet to announce the revised plans. We expect the telco to make the information public in the coming days considering the new plans come into effect from December 6.

Separately, Airtel's unlimited plans become expensive by upto 47%

Separately, Airtel's prepaid plans have seen a tariff increase in the range of 50 paise/day to Rs. 2.85/day. However, the price hike doesn't bring any noteworthy added benefits. The Rs. 169 and Rs. 199 packs have been merged into a Rs. 248 plan which translates to a 47% hike for Rs. 169 plan subscribers. Similarly, the annual Rs. 1,699 pack now costs Rs. 2,398.

Vodafone Idea has also increased prepaid tariffs in India

Notably, Vodafone Idea has also announced an increase in the prices of prepaid services from December 3. These new plans are said to be costlier by upto 42% and are available with validity periods of 2 days, 28 days, 84 days and 365 days. The telco will also charge for off-net calls after the free usage in the plan is exhausted.
