Sahara employees' salary claims to be considered in property sales

Business

Sahara Group employees, who haven't been paid for a long time, are turning to the Supreme Court for help.
The big hearing on November 17, 2025, will look at their pleas alongside Sahara's ongoing troubles with refunding investors.
To raise money for investor refunds—as ordered by the Supreme Court—Sahara wants permission to sell off 88 major properties, including Aamby Valley and Sahara Shaher, to Adani Properties.
The court has also asked that employee salary claims be considered as part of this process.

What the court has asked for

The Chief Justice has asked the government and SEBI to respond to both the property sale plan and employee salary claims by November 17.
The court also wants Sahara to verify how much is owed to workers and has appointed an expert to sort out which properties can actually be sold.
His family is speeding up asset sales as ordered by the court.
All related issues—including how assets should be sold—will be discussed together at this crucial hearing.
