SDTT begins 5-member committee after N Chandrasekaran declines 3rd term
The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) has started looking for a new chairman at Tata Sons, since N Chandrasekaran says he won't go for a third term when his stint ends in February 2027.
On August 13, the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) began setting up a five-member selection committee to make sure the leadership change goes smoothly.
Maharashtra charity commissioner restricts SRTT meetings
The process is hitting pause because the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) can't hold meetings right now, thanks to restrictions from Maharashtra's charity commissioner.
Both trusts, which together own over half of Tata Sons, need to nominate committee members. While SDTT is moving ahead, SRTT's part is still pending.
Once formed, the committee is expected to pick a successor within two months, and Noel Tata (current chairman of Tata Trusts) will likely play a key role in choosing who leads the group next.
