Sensex gains ₹4 lakh crore in a day
Business
Big day for the Indian stock market: Sensex shot up over 950 points to hit 78,526.25, while Nifty climbed past the 1% mark to reach 24,303.80.
One key factor? US President Donald Trump hinted at an early end to the U.S.-Iran conflict, which gave investors a much-needed confidence boost.
Crude oil prices dropped nearly 6%
As tensions cooled off between the US and Iran, crude oil prices dropped nearly 6%, landing at $99 per barrel.
This was helped by Trump's talk of easing sanctions, sending out the US Navy for oil tanker protection, and support from the G-7 on energy supply.
Thanks to this combo, India's market capitalization jumped by ₹4 lakh crore in a single day.
