    Sensex climbs to 53,161 points, Nifty settles above 15,800

    On Monday, the Indian equity benchmarks extended their winning run for the third straight session. While the Sensex rose 0.82% to 53,161 points, the Nifty jumped 0.84% to 15,832.05 points. The midcap indices also showed bullish signals with the Nifty Midcap 50 rising by 1.04% to settle at 7,391 points. Read on for more details on Monday's market report.

    Who were the biggest winners and losers ?

    As far as the top sector gainers are concerned, NIFTY IT, NIFTY PSE, and NIFTY COMMODITIES topped the list, edging up 2%, 1.85%, and 1.51%, respectively. On the other hand, the biggest stock gainers were Coal India, ONGC, and Larsen, which climbed 3.12%, 3.02%, and 2.74%, respectively. Apollo Hospital, Eicher Motors, and HDFC Life lead the negative pack, plummeting 1.14%, 1.03%, and 0.61%, respectively.

    Coming to the Asian markets, both the Shanghai Composite Index and Nikkei Index on Monday traded in the red. The former slipped to 3,379.19 points, while the latter went down to 26,871.27 points. Meanwhile, the Hang Seng Index jumped 2.35% to 22,229.52 points. In the US, NASDAQ ended on a positive note, surging 375.43 points, or 3.34%, to 11,607.62 points.

    Crude oil prices up by 0.91%

    Gold and silver futures witnessed a rise. The price of gold futures rose 0.61% to Rs. 50,934, while that of silver futures climbed 1.59% to Rs. 60,699. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices surged by $0.97, or 0.91% to $107.98 per barrel.

    How have the popular cryptocurrencies fared today?

    The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin is trading at $21,465.22 which is up by 0.28% compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, Ethereum is down by 0.53% and is currently trading at $1,233.00. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are trading at $0.9995 (flat), $240.18 (0.61% up), and $0.5068 (1.44% down), respectively. Finally, Dogecoin is trading 11.35% higher compared to yesterday at $0.07806.

    Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged

    The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Monday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.
