SpaceX to buy cursor maker Anysphere for $60B, creating billionaires
Business
SpaceX has said it will take over Anysphere, the company behind Cursor, an AI tool that helps automate software development, for a massive $60 billion.
This is a huge win for Cursor's founders, Aman Sanger and Sualeh Asif, who started the company in 2022 and each own about 4.5%.
Founders set to net $2.7B each
Thanks to the deal, Sanger and Asif are set to see their net worth jump to around $2.7 billion each, making them some of the youngest billionaires out there.
Early investors like Andreessen Horowitz and Thrive also scored big, with their stakes now valued at billions.
Cursor's rapid rise, doubling its revenue in just a few months, and its partnership with SpaceX on new AI projects made this acquisition possible.
