Vembu pointed to Singapore's fast-track courts as a model, but emphasized that any harsh punishment should only follow careful investigation.
He also suggested forgiving past offenses so India can focus on fixing corruption now instead of getting stuck in old cases.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay said he is committed to a corruption-free government and has evidence ready for ongoing investigations, promising action when the time is right.
