Study finds AI handles 1 3rd of entry level jobs
AI is taking over entry-level jobs fast, about one-third worldwide, according to a new study by Cognizant and Pearson.
India is leading the pack, with 37% of these roles now handled by AI.
The survey tapped into insights from 750 HR leaders across India, the UK and the US showing just how quickly industries are shifting toward automation.
Firms slow hiring amid AI shift
Big names like TCS and Meta have slowed hiring as they move toward AI-driven teams; Meta even laid off thousands during this shift.
In India, nearly one in five HR leaders say AI does half or more of their entry-level work already. Most expect these jobs to evolve into roles managing or working alongside AI within five years, and new job categories are on the horizon.
With 91% of Indian companies now prioritizing AI skills (even for nontechnical positions), over half have launched upskilling programs to help employees keep pace with this tech-powered future.
