Swiggy, magicpin report surge in orders during Navratri
This October, food delivery apps Swiggy and magicpin saw a big jump in orders as festival season took over cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Even places like Surat and Thiruvananthapuram joined the rush.
According to Swiggy's Sidharth Bhakoo, choco lava cakes topped dessert orders across metros, while Kolkata kept it classic with biryani.
Thali meals, vegetarian food, and more
Magicpin reported a 40% spike in vegetarian and thali meals during Navratri, followed by people branching out to all kinds of cuisines after Dussehra.
With India's online food delivery market expected to grow at over 28% each year through 2030—and Diwali right around the corner—magicpin is gearing up for order volumes that could double last year's numbers.
Festival cravings are definitely going digital!
