Tata Sons board likely to discuss N Chandrasekaran stepping down
Big changes could be coming to Tata Sons. At its likely September 17 board meeting, it might discuss N Chandrasekaran stepping down as chairman after his current term ends in February 2027.
Even though Tata Trusts backed him for another term last year, the board couldn't agree, and Chandrasekaran announced on August 12 that he won't seek a third term.
Dorabji Tata Trust initiates selection committee
To find a new chairman, the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust resolved to initiate the setting up of a selection committee on August 13, but things are getting tricky with the Sir Ratan Tata Trust also involved.
Board members have had mixed opinions before, so those debates could pop up again.
The main focus of this meeting is routine business and rescheduling its postponed AGM, but all eyes are on how it will handle picking Chandrasekaran's successor.
