Where do Indians want to work?

India's working class is going a little bit out of the trodden path and opting for companies that didn't even exist ten years ago. According to LinkedIn's "Top Companies 2017" report, the preference of present workspaces is filled with Indian start-ups and the IT sector is still holding their ground even in the topsy-turvy market. Here's a look at it.

The first two picks are Flipkart and Amazon

Flipkart, the Indian e-commerce giant, has bagged the first place in the list. This online player is riding high on the e-commerce boom and is now more alluring than ever as a workplace. The second spot is taken by Amazon; Jeff Bezos has promised large-scale investments in Asia's second-largest market and that makes it an excellent fit for present and future employees.

Paytm and Ola are standing strong at four and five

Paytm has soared, thanks to the demonetization spree; this payments platform is one of the most sought after places to work in India and stands at number four in the list and thanks to its new payments bank, it would continue to thrive. While Uber is struggling to retain its employees, its Indian competitor Ola is standing tall at number five in the list.

The IT sector bunch, Infosys doesn't make the cut

Although, recent news of layoffs might have dampened job seekers' spirits, but the IT sector is still a good place to be at. HCL Technologies stands at number 6, Capgemini at 11, Accenture at 12, Tech Mahindra at 14, Wipro at 18 and Cognizant comes in at 21. They're not exactly in the top of the list but they are still hanging on.

    Adobe and Google Alphabet

US-based Adobe has been in India for quite some time now, according to CEO Shantanu Narayen, "We have probably grown faster in India than anywhere else in the world" and now they are at number 17 in the list. For Google, India is the top priority and it stands at number eight in the list, chugging along to make innovative solutions for the country.

    Here's what stays with you

MakeMyTrip, Grofers, Swiggy, OYO rooms, these are all the online players from various segments, which have found their way into the list. Reliance Industries, whose Jio changed the telecom industry, is also there in the list at number 10. The salient takeaway from the list is, perhaps, the fact that India is adapting rapidly to change and is not afraid of making bold choices.
