Vodafone Idea subscribers reach 198.4 million after upgrades and government relief

For the first time in almost five years, Vodafone Idea actually added new users, 21,927, in February 2026, according to TRAI.
This small but meaningful boost takes their total to 198.4 million subscribers, coming after some big network upgrades and much-needed government relief on old dues.
Vodafone Idea plans ₹45,000 cr investment
Vodafone Idea is planning a hefty ₹45,000 crore investment over the next three years to catch up with rivals.
They've already expanded 4G coverage to 85.5%, but their average revenue per user is still lower than Jio and Airtel.
Meanwhile, Jio and Airtel are racing ahead (they added millions of users in the same period), so Vi still has a lot of ground to cover if it wants to truly bounce back.
