Women entrepreneurs: Progcap has disbursed ₹10,000cr in collateral-free loans
Progcap's ProgShakti initiative has handed out over ₹10,000 crore in collateral-free loans to women-led small businesses as of March 2026.
These loans (up to ₹10 lakh each) do not need any property or assets as security.
Women now make up 17% of Progcap's borrowers (up 40% from last year), with most coming from smaller cities.
Credit limits for these women have more than doubled, and nearly 90% return for more funding, showing real trust in the platform.
Why is this initiative important?
Women entrepreneurs still face a big credit gap, 35% less access than men, mostly because banks often want collateral or a male co-applicant.
ProgShakti is trying to change that by offering independent, unsecured working capital.
As co-founder Pallavi Shrivastava puts it, this helps women grow their businesses without old-school hurdles getting in the way.
