YKK India to invest $150 million in Chennai for 3rd plant
Big news for Chennai: YKK India, the manufacturer of fastening products for the apparel, textile and industrial sectors, is investing $150 million to set up its third manufacturing plant in the country.
The facility will cover 149,936 sq m and focus on making products for clothes, textiles, and industry.
Construction wraps up by February 2028, so keep an eye out!
YKK plant joining Mahindra Origins cluster
This new plant will be part of Mahindra's Origins industrial cluster on NH 16, joining global players like Mitsubishi Electric and Omron.
According to Vikram Goel, Chief Business Officer - Industrial, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd., YKK's move strengthens Chennai's reputation as a manufacturing hotspot and supports high-quality industrial growth.
