Delhi: Man arrested for recording Ranchi woman's video in washroom

A 23-year-old B. Ed student from Ranchi got the shock of her life when she noticed a smartphone flashlight aimed at her while she was taking a bath in her hotel room. She rushed out and shared it with her two room mates, who then informed the police about a certain peeping tom. Police caught the culprit and has seized his mobile.

What transpired?
Woman was in Delhi for educational tour

The incident took place in Jagir hotel in city's Kirti Nagar area. The woman was part of a 140-member group, who visited Delhi for an educational tour. They checked into room number 306 on Tuesday. The next day morning the accused Deepak Bora, staying in the adjacent room, gained access to the ventilation shaft and recorded the video. The flashlight alerted the woman.

Details
Complaint lodged against the culprit

She lodged a complaint with the Kirti Nagar police station against Bora, who was staying in room number 307. The mobile that reportedly has the objectionable videos is being examined. "Based on the complaint, we have registered an FIR under sections 354(c), 509 of the IPC and 66(E) of the I.T. Act.," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vijay Kumar, while confirming the incident.
