Here's how '102 Not Out', 'Omerta' fared over the weekend

The first weekend of May was a mixed one for Bollywood. While Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor's '102 Not Out' went from strength to strength, Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Omerta' struggled to put up decent numbers. And once again, it was Hollywood's 'Avengers: Infinity War' that dominated the box office. Here's more.

The unusual father-son love story won the audience over

'102 Not Out' started on a positive note on Friday, with Rs. 3.52 crore coming in. It then witnessed a fantastic growth over the weekend and raked in Rs. 5.53 crore and Rs. 7.60 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Thus, the Umesh Shukla directorial currently stands at a total of Rs. 16.65 crore.

Amitabh and Rishi's crackling chemistry worked well for the film

Meanwhile, Rajkummar failed to impress this time

Hansal Mehta's latest offering lacked steam from day one itself. Panned by most of the critics, 'Omerta' had a disastrous start of Rs. 54 lakh. It picked up slightly on day two but the growth was not enough to change the film's fortune. 'Omerta' has managed to collect close to Rs. 3 crore in its first three days.

The superheroes continue to enthrall the Indian audience

'Avengers: Infinity War' is showing no signs of slowing down at the Indian box office. Marvel's film collected an impressive Rs. 30.74 crore in its second weekend, which is almost double the combined total of '102 Not Out' and 'Omerta'. With Rs. 187.38 crore in its kitty so far, 'Avengers: Infinity War' is just days away from entering the elite Rs. 200 crore club.

It will soon surpass 'The Jungle Book' in India

#AvengersInfinityWar continues its WINNING STREAK... All set to emerge HIGHEST GROSSING Hollywood film in India, surpassing #TheJungleBook... [Week 2] Fri 7.17 cr, Sat 10.53 cr, Sun 13.04 cr. Total: ₹ 187.38 cr NettBOC. India biz... GrossBOC: ₹ 240.23 cr. #Avengers #InfinityWar
